Clavinet.com preamp boards? |
Lead | |

Whatever happened with them? There was a post that they'd be coming out in april, then it disappeared with no updates. Are they still in the works? Did I
miss something? I've been waitin' to get my hands on one! :P

We made the prototypes, and we're still tweaking them. This summer we'll start selling them online. ll

Any news on these? I am still looking forward to them!
I still use my clavinet live and having a new less-noisy shielded pre-amp board would be excellent.

Hi all. The new Clavinet.Com preamps have arrived. They will be sold as kits with all of the parts included. We are currently waiting for manufacturer to ship
the filter inductors. Once we have those, the preamp will be put up for sale on the website. All I can say is that you guys are going to love them. They have a
number of improvements over the original board, but there is one very special feature on this board that a small number of clavinet owners have always wanted.
STAY TUNED..

Does it have a balanced output and the mods described on the homepage?
|

No balanced output, we disagree entirely with the premise. The clavinet is essentially an electric guitar, and electric guitars and electric basses do not have
balanced outputs. Those that believe a balanced output in a clavinet will solve noise problems are misinformed or ignorant of the actual source of the noise.
All of the noise in a clavinet is generated by it's massive pickups. Additionally, the pickup wires going from the preamp to the pickups acts as one giant
antenna wire. Balancing the output cable from the clavinet to the amp will not fix this problem. If you would like a balanced signal, you can use a D.I. Box.
This is what bass guitar players use to interface with PA's and studio mixing consoles. Stevie Wonder basically had one implemented in his clavinet for
quick hook-ups. It is common for bands to use the DI boxes provided by the sound company or recording studio when on the road. All Stevie Wonder did was have a
DI box permanently installed in the instrument. Again, It does not solve any noise problems. DI Boxes can be purchased for around $40.

Will I be able to use the new kits with my E7 and C? Is the new feature going to be a built-in vaporizer?
|
|||

The boards will work with the E7, but the switches in the E7 are directly soldered to the PCB. However.. there is a way around this problem..in a cool way.

Any word on these? I have a dead C that I want to get rid of, but I want it to be alive when I do? If this take much longer, I might just part it out on,
egads, ebay!! What's taking so long?

We have the new boards in stock, with all of the parts, but we don't have the inductors yet. Once we get the inductors, then the boards will be offered for sale. In order to use the new clavinet.com preamp with a clavinet C, you will need the beyer transformer (which we have in stock). Email me: clavinet@gti.net for more info. |

Update: The inductors arrived yesterday. We will make an announcement soon regarding the product release of the new clavinet.com preamp boards.

Kick. Ax. Ordered it a few minutes ago. Where the hell is it?!

I know, it's a high-quality microphone impedance matching transformer. If you look around, you'll see these are quite expensive, even on ebay. Some of
these went into phonograph players back in the 70's. The unit we carry is the ORIGINAL part number from the ORIGINAL manufacturer - Beyer!
